Creativity changes the world!
Our mission is to help people make an impact by embracing their creativity, so they can shine!
Our designs
Our designs celebrate diversity – drawing inspiration from nature, as well as cultures and crafts from around the world and in particular, our beloved home continent, Africa. The signature Studio aesthetic involves soulful, hand-drawn illustrations, quirky hand-lettering, pattern and lots of colour!
Currently, our designs adorn stationery, gifts and wall art.
We also offer branding, graphic recording, illustration and mural painting.
The studio has worked on projects for a variety of clients around the world, including: The African Union; The Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID); BBC; Brighton Museum and Art Gallery (UK); Deutsche Welle’s DW Akademie; Facebook and many more.
Our values
We are an African Woman-owned business.
Kindness is an important value to us.
Kindness to self: putting our health and wellness first – mind, body and soul.
Kindness to each other: working with organisations that have ethical business practices at their core and wherever possible, working with women-led organisations.
Kindness to the beautiful environment that sustains and inspires us: considering our impact in every stage of our creative and production process.
We like to work with suppliers, stockists and other partners who share these values.
About Lulu
Studio founder, Lulu Kitololo, is an artist, illustrator and designer with almost 20 years experience.
An alumna of Pratt Institute in the US (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications Design, with Highest Honors) and SOAS, University of London (Master of Arts in African Studies, with Distinction), she previously worked as an advertising Art Director in New York and as Senior Design Consultant for London-based sustainability communications agency, Futerra. She's been running her own studio since 2010.
Aside from championing creativity and the continent of her birth – Africa – these are the things that make her world go round: her son-shine; nature (and especially the ocean); travel; movement; and writing.
