African symbols
These designs are inspired by symbols from African cultures. We’ve started with Adinkra – visuals symbols from the Akan people in present-day Ghana and Ivory Coast.
Symbols include:
Wawa aba (seed of the wawa tree) – A symbol of hardiness, toughness and perseverance
Nkonsonkonson (chain link) – A symbol of unity and human relations
Sankofa (return and get it) – A symbol of importance of learning from the past
and Denkym – (crocodile) – A symbol of adaptability.
